When would the best time to sow my pumpkin seeds so that my lad has it for hallowen?

I sowed mine on heat about 12 days ago, but anytime soon seems ok if you have a propogator. Remember though that you wont be able to plant out until after the frosts have gone, so you will need to nuture the plant until then, and they can get rather large ...

Sowed mine at the weekend in the warmth of my conservatory.  They won't go out onto the allotment until the end of April.

Mine went in last week, in a nice warm cupboard with the hot water tank. They're now on the kitchen windowsill, prompting complaints from the OH that they're 'smelling the place with that mud'.

My seed arrived today (Dill's Atlantic Giant) and I will sow indoors mid-April, plant out in May.

Planted 11th March and now romping away on the windowsill:

9 Jack O'Lantern pumpkins,
6 Marina de Choggia squash,
8 Butternut squash...

That Pumpkin prize is mine, I tell you, MIIIIIIIIIINE!!!

I tend to wait a bit longer for mine, mid to late April, i have planted them early but they grow too quick and dont do as well if i wait, sow them indoors, put them out in the day, bring them in at night.

I think I will sow mine in the middle of April.  Sowed mine in May last year and they were really successful.  I have to prepare the beds as we are digging over a wild bit at the back of our plot where they will eventually grow.  Reading about everyone having sown their seeds is making me very impatient and very jealous. I am dying to get cracking. busy_lizzie

Did some Patti-Pan squash FOUR days ago ... (they were sat in a poly bag on my fishtank) ...

and they have germinated already :o  this seems like some sort of a record!!  'tis for me anyways  ;D

Ok I think i'll do mine in April and sow indoors. As long as I have one for Hallowen as I wouldn't buy one last year to be carved up. My son asked me the other day are we planting my pumpkin seed yet. U watch i'll have some bugger nick it haha
