my seedlings are in our garden room which faces south (i think) so doesn't get much light. i'm also running out of room and i want to put everything in GH, but yesterday when i went to open a vent in GH for plants i noticed that the water in the watering can (bout 2") had ice in it from that night!! is it too risky to put my seedlings in? its not heated

I've found it's worth having a little parrafin heater to put on in the greenhouse at night if frost is forecast. Or as a last resort cover seedlings with a sheet of newspaper at night if frost is forecast.

In Notts?

Mild weather is forecast generally for the week ahead, so I would be happy to put things out. The sooner the better or they'll get leggy.

Protection? Much prefer fleece as a covering - light, & lets light in when you can't get to the g/h to uncover.

South facing room? Should get all the light??

tim, must be north facing then, the sun goes on the other side of the house. will do the fleece deal cos everything is starting to get leggy, they're all desperate for a bit of sunbathing

But only when necessary.

Mine are going into the unheated g/house this w/end, Gem, fleeced if necessary at night.Fingers crossed...
