live your days not count your years

Sure someone can tell me where I took this photo, it was on the road towards Rannoch moor I think.

Hi DD

BEAUTIFUL pics as always - thank you! Hadn't seen the Falkirk Wheel - kind of like the London Eye but wetter! The close up of it is just stunning...

What is Oban thinking about letting Pizza Hut put that monstrosity in such a beautiful town?! It's my second favourite bit of mainland Scotland because it's where we used to catch the boat to Iona in my childhood and again as a young adult - my wedding photo was taken in the grounds of the Argyll Hotel on Iona, looking over towards Phionnfort on Mull. My favourite bit is Glenfinnan, where we had  childhood holidays and where I spent my honeymoon - lots of happy days... thanks for reminding me I want to go to Scotland this year as well!

That does remind me of the country round Bridge of Orchy, just south of Rannoch Moor, but it's been a very long time since I was up there.

MrsKP

that's all just up the road from me that is .... and i really should make more of it.

twice i've been to Killin for the weekend, i think you go through callendar on the way there, and it's just the most fabulous place.

but even loch lomond is only 40 mins away, and i should get up there more, just for some air and a deep breath occasionally.

thanks for reminding me it was there DD.

Lovely pictures DD.  We used to live in Oban 1982 to 1886.  I was up there on holiday three years ago and can't remember the pizza hut.  The building used to house a museum of miniature dolls and furniture.  We are going on holiday to Scotland this year with our caravan and will be staying at the Caravan Club Sites at Killin, Bunree and Morvich.  We hope to visit Oban for a day trip, maybe taking the train from Crianlarich as it goes through such superb scenery.  Keep your pictures coming.

Where are the waterfalls in your pics DD?  Are they at Killin?

grawrc

By Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel and Lochaber we will go ... tum-ti-tum-ti-tum-ti-tum-ti-tum :D

No Paulines7, they are Arklet waterfalls ? 20 yards from the hotel cascading into Loch Lomond.
Will try and show a clearer photo if I have one.

Not the best of images taken through the window of boat, reflection in glass.

Perhaps some free advertising ? Anyone recognise the falls ? think it began with a "D"

grawrc

Yes Mrs KP that's cos it's f****g freezing there

grawrc

Yes I do recognise them. Been there many times when my Kids were younger (20 years ago). Now, however, the name elludes me. Busy wee village behind the falls though.

Thanks for jogging my memory MrsKP, this last one I had to crop the bottom off due to the coach moving quite quickly. Again another out of the window on passing, you people who live with such beautiful scenery are so lucky.

not at all my dear grawrc.  i've just about regained the ability to speak after a very long weekend of abusing my body and other people's ears, so for me to remember my own name would have been a major achievement.   ;D
