Ireland - definately go there. My parents have been renting the same cottage on the ring of kerry for the last 15 or so years, its absolutley beautiful. Mountains, lakes, the sea, islands everything, and the people are so friendly. you dont have to lock anything up!! its just a fantastic place. We get the container ferry from liverpool (you get free meals) to dublin for about £200 return in aug/sep. thoroughly reccomend the place  :) :) :)
