My clodhoppers are a size 7 to 8 WIIIDE fitting, sturdy of ankle and posessive an olympic level distance between the end of the heel and the top of the foot.

To be able to get my heel into a wellie I end up sloshing about in size 10's feeling like I'm skating on ice.

Does anyone know of anything that will afford me waterproof protection, ankle support (they're not that sturdy!) and strength to stomp all over the garden tools without bruising my sole in the process.

Currently working my way through old flat work shoes...

What about Arco?

What's Arco?

Jenny, I'll look into the DM factor, though my upbringing makes me blanche at "ruining" a good pair of shoes straight away by trudging through earth & mud. (Mother's never very far behind some days!)

I agree with Jennym, got my boots from the same shop, they seem to cater for all sorts of feet and I have to admit my feet are not the best.

Alishka.  Believe it or not I started reading this thread and fell about laughing, I really thought we were in for a wind up and it would all return to the story about  Bennetsleg Aunty ;D ;D ;D
Sorry Bennetsleg can't help you. BTW does your Mum know we have all had hysterics about Aunty????
Hope you find suitable footwear!!!!!!!

Oh Lorna! So glad we're on the same wavelength - EXACTLY what I thought too......(OMG I've started again ;D ;D)

(deep breath....composed....."yes!" she says formally "I, like Lorna, wish you well in your search for appropriate and comfortable footwear").......OMG! isn't English a strange language......only just realized that 'footwear' is SINGULAR......sorry, off again)

Please excuse me.......Lish x :-[

Now Alishka we must stop this, turning a perfectly sensible question in to a circus. Then again with a post like  Bennetsleg put up what can one expect? I am going to bed, hope I can read my book through the tears of laughter!!
