Strawberry Runners

Last autum, I took some runners from my strawberries and rooted them in a tub. I shall be planting them out in the bed shortly. However, should I remove this year's flowers or let them fruit?

I think most advice says to remove them for stronger plants and more berries next year - but I can never bring myself to do it  ;D
