120 seeds!  :o I wonder if there is any way I can tell which seed is which... maybe not! :(
What else did you grow from the packet and did you like them?

They list 10 different varieties, and they are always generous with their seeds!

Last year was a poor year for me squash wise - very few, but what did grow were big - but not as big as the pumpkin.

Fantastic pumpkin accessory periwinkle, where can I get one? ;)

How can this round, solid looking vegetable be like spaghetti? Do you have to cut it into thin strips or is it obvious when you cut it open ?

carloso

It comes apart into sort of wormy bits. I just cut in into chunks and cook it like marrow or courgette; I don't like courgette much and find this one better.

Well - that's persuaded me then! A friend very kindly gave me some seeds, and with that description, I am sure now the kids will eat it  ;D (They don't believe that pasta spaghetti is worms any more...)

I grew spag squash for the first time last year because curiosity overcame me.   I can say it was lovely.   I used it in meals as a potato/pasta replacement.

To cook the spag squash I cut it in two to retain the seeds before wrapping each half tightly in foil.   I then roasted the squash for approx 1 hr to hour and half.   To service I just pulled the flesh away from the skin.   The cooked flesh pulls away from the skins in long thin ribbons like vermacilli, hence the name spaghetti squash.

I too am looking for some more spag seeds as I've had a catastrophe with my seed box & they've all spoiled.   Fortunately Wilko's have a BOGOF on their own brand and Johnson brand of seeds.   The only seeds I couldn't get are spag squash and curly kale

Good luck with your spag squash, hope you have as much success with yours as I had with mine last year.

Hi
I am very excited as i just bought a spaghetti squash from sainsburys. It was very naughty of me because we get a vegie box each week and are trying to eat in season. BUT i just could not resisit it.  I didn't even look to see which country it came from, it just fell straight into the trolley and then refused to be taken out ;D

I am going to have it for my dinner tommorrow, so i am trying(and failing) to stick to the dreaded slimming world, any cooking tips from anyone in the know.

How was it? What did you do with it?
I'm gonna have to try it in fact I almost came away from sainbury's with one the other day but had too much to carry home already.
Have just started a diet so I will defo give it a go and if it's nice will look to grow this year.

I didn't have it in the end, but i'll let you know when i do. ;D

Are you going to save the seeds from your spag squash before you cook it.   You may then be able to grow your own instead of being "mugged" by sainsbury's.
