How much for a letter (well, a few seeds, actually ;))...so no more than 20g. If I need to go to my nearest PO, won't be able to get there 'til Saturday, but probably have some stamps lurking around & would like to be posting tomorrow if poss.

Thanks,

Lishka

Would be great, please. I'm thinking 39p (praps cos I've got some 39p stamps & I must have bought them for something :-\). So, unless someone knows for sure, I'd like that.

Cheers!

Lish, when you are next at the post Office pick up the booklet "Pricing made easy" being a bit of a "ahem" e-bayer, I find it easier to understand than the website!
In me booklet, 20g letter to Europe should be 42p  Think Dan was looking at the World Zone 2 list, but knowing me I could be wrong! :-[ :-\  DP
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.

Thanks for that, Doris - can pick up a booklet and a selection of stamps. It is such a B. having the two nearest PO's closed down - and the one that remains open is a significant distance away and closes half-day on Weds and Sats >:( >:( >:(

Roxy's seeds, tho, are on their way with 2 x 39p stamps - so I expect them to arrive in (almost) double-quick time ;D

Parcels out of here (Belgium) cost a lot but the UE, including the UK, have an agreement to 'service' each others letter mail for roughly the same price. EU to UK is â,¬0.70c...that's 48p for a standard letter. Here we are also take into account the size of the envelope.

This may be of some general help - was in our local corner shop this am & someone was asking about the cost of a letter to Europe, the shopkeeper then gave her a book of EU stamps. Didn't know they existed in book form.

Hyacinth

I know that they used to, but then they seemed to disappear from our PO - my thought was that, as they kept upping the price of the stamps, they wanted the current revenue........cynical me. Anyway, I'll ask when I have to go there again, so thanks a lot for the tip.

Remember that there used to be an agreement with the EU that the prices were pegged to 'home' costs - that didn't last long, did it?

NB I've still got 1st and 2nd Class stamps I paid.......well, not the current rate for :P - always buy a stock when I hear that yet another increase is in the pipeline.

Cheers!
