storing seed potatos

hi can any one tell me how to store my seed potatos i have got earlys and lates been told to put them in egg box but do i need to cover them to keep them in the dark or not i know the first lot has to go  out on the 1 of apr ane the second lot 3 weeks after thanks

Store them in a light frost free place that is not too warm and they will start to chit nicely.
Dark will make the shoots spindly and week.
