Hi, loulou.  Any time from October (it says in D T Brown's catalogue) so, if the ground's not frozen, a.s.a.p. would be about right!

hi loulou, snap - plant as soon as the ground will let you! 2-3 inches deep, are the girlies old enough to get dibbing and planting whilst you dig? If you do a search on 'garlic' there's been lots of discussion in Nov/Dec (planting, spacing) which I found really useful as I am growing garlic for the first time this year  ;D

This might be of interest - & surprising??

christine

That's exactly what I got with my Albigensian Wight, Tim, but after a bit of dithering, Googling, and consulting Joy Larkcom, I ignored it.

Planted cloves in 3" pots in the cold greenhouse at the end of November; when the roots started coming out of the bottom planted them out on a mild-ish day and they're doing well now.

No point in waiting until March, is there?

tim

Maybe it only applies to the seed that they send out in the new year?
It would be difficult to plant them in November!!
