Not as easy to use as before by a long way and the messages arwe not persistan so if it crashes you cannot go back and pick up the thread like one could before. Also at present if yoyu go there I exit A4A again unlike before.
Been back and tried again .Do not like it at all in any way shape or form so I am going to go elsewhere
Please give my best wishes to all Chatters and Goodbye

I have had some strong views expressed about the chat room, use this thread to let me know what you think.

Remeber, just because it has lots of features, you don't have to use them all.

i am fairly new to computers and obviously cos of this not to hot on using stf but tried the chat and to be honest picked it up pretty quick plus love the fact more emicons cos is more fun have to say i like it is much more fun ta  dan like u say dont have to use the  features if u dont want to
::)

it is quite a bit slower than the old one and it is a bit disappointing like eric says that you lose the 'thread' if you nip out/ computer crashes.

but i do like the emoticons and the fact that you have an entire spectrum of colours should solve the problem of repeat colours at busy times!

i did not find it slow pretty quick to be honest but i do have broadband

I was so surprised to find the automatic texts in Dutch, like when somebody enters or leaves and who wrote the message. My compi is set on Dutch so that must be why but it wasn't like that on the old chat.

So far everything looks great, you have been quite a busy body Dan.

Admin aka Dan

I've tweaked the chat so that it now opens in a new window.

Cheers

Dan

So you have, thank you. Is there any way in which previous messages could be left in view, so that when joining one knows what topic is being discussed? Pretty please.  And the last message received is still hidden behind the Boxes.

Eric,

I am trying to enable a cache, but as I'm sure you can imagine it requires some work.

Keep an eye out, you never know.

Garden Manager

Takes a bit of getting used to - when it loads properly!

I could onlt get half the controls to appear on my screen. Could add amessage ok but thats about it  :(

Eric/Dan -OK it`s not likely to happen here but I have used `chat` facilities where just now and again(under the influence)a member has made a less than tactful comment about another member.

This is pretty well regretted almost immediately-but if the said member were to join at that moment it would be awkward-having said that-yes I agree that is nice to be able to see the topic being discussed.

I hope that makes sense-it would a first for me ;)

Stephan.

Agreed Cleo, better not to see an unwanted message, better yet don't send them or at least use the privacy option.
Dan. Thank-you. I do apprecaite the amount of effort you are putting in.
