Popped up to the allotment during my lunch break today to check broad bean and onion progress - and came away with a carrier bag full of runner beans, 3 courgettes, a yellow "ball" courgette and some calabrese - is it normal for these things to still be cropping this late?

I also checked on my Cauliflowers - oh dear! The curds are all brown - and are very small and not tightly packed - any ideas anyone? I suspect - not enought nutrients, not enough firmness, slugs and general neglect! Think I may pass on these next year!

The cauli might be suffering from a lack of Boron.

Mrs Ava

I am still harvesting beans and courgettes.   I figure as long as we don't have frosts, and the polinators are still around, we might still get a few more!  Have loads on my plot, but no caulis!  I will master them one day.

I'm still cropping my green sprouting Calabrese.  Lovely it is.  Will keep it going until the frost gets it.

Do you think it's the mild weather? Unseasonally late borlottis, spinach, leeks and late spuds cropping now on my plot  :o, still waiting for radicchio, broccoli and cabbage to mature. Amazing you're still getting courgettes this late - wonder if it would be sensible to think about succession planting for courgettes next year for a six-month courgette season (hardly bears thinking about!) ;D

Lady Cosmos

Still harvesting cucumbers, courgettes, some strawberries every day and I planted my first lot of "winter"garlic two weeks ago and help.. they are already more than 10 cm above te soil, They think it is spring, I am afraid  ;D

Moggle

I still have courgettes, and pumpkins cropping. Also have some late sweetcorn that I hope and pray does the business, but might be a bit hopeful with that one.  I think I will definitely try to successively sow Courgettes next year - love em small!

All my summer type stuff has died off now, but had the first of my sprouts on sunday and they were good. Started the big dig last weekend ready for next year.
