To replicate an earlier lost thread ...

Mine is in Liverpool, if anyone knows it, in Calderstones park.

Very nice location.

Hi - mine's in Seacroft, East Leeds - small and plagued by vandalism this year.

And it's on the webs too at http://www.keirg.freeserve.co.uk/diary/

My plot's in West London, south facing on a gentle east-west slope.  Man, how I wish it would rain!  The new strawberry patch is barely started and the ground is like concrete.....

I am in Northamtonshire like all praying for rain who knows a good rain dance.
A corner of a farmers field and the lottie holders can pump water from his spring when they feel like it. So I suppose its classed as priviet, the farmer sells his cow muck to the lottie holders. Nice bunch Teresa

Hopefully soon in Whitley Bay (hello legless!), currently  back garden has veg beds while waiting - allotment officer for the area reckons I'll be lotting by this time next year - I don't know if that is quick or not in terms of a waiting list - but I'm naturally impatient and WANT ONE NOW!!!

i'm at hillheads cerig and its not council run so you need to be on their list as well. if you go down to the allotment office/ shop thing on a sunday morning between 10.30 and 11.30 they'll put you on the list, do it now as rent is due in september and thats when some plots become free i suppose. its behind the ice rink next to the football club.

many thanks - legless - then nice lottyman at ntc does add you to the self-managed lists as well but a visit will always help - I'll pop down as soon as I can - went to visit the ones at Leg of Mutton, Monkseaton (by where the car boot sale is) and chatted to a few people - that looks a really nice site - all the lotties were well used and looked after - but like gold dust I think! A pity, cause its a 10 min walk from my house!! - if you still want boards I can get some scaffold board pieces from the yard for you if you want.  Cheers  Ceri

thanks for the offer Ceri, thats really very kind, but we have decided to see how it goes without the defined beds and just leave paths every 5 foot or so, the wooden beds look ever so neat, but its a bit like minimalist homes - they look lovely but i'm not sure they'd suit my random clutter  ;D

Yes, I went through the council initially and they put me on all the lists but i actually got this one through going personally and the man writing my name in a list (literally) in a dusty book - very hi-tech!

The ones at Monkseaton are lovely, you're right there. Where are the Nexus ones you mentioned?

As you're already growing veg i'll probably bug you for local knowledge of planting times etc now!! I am very new to this so very appreciative of all advice!

If you come out of Whitley Bay metro main entrance, turn right and walk along towards cullercoats they are in a long line following the track line. There were some really well used ones towards the Lish Avenue end, but the ones nearest the metro were awful.  (this is for legless, and probably will mean absolutely sweet nothing to anyone else - sorry!!)
