Leeks seeds

Over half a row of one type of leek on my plot has started to flower.  It is okay, they look gorgeous, and I have lots and lots of leeks.  However, would it be worth saving the seeds - of course, I can't remember the darn variety, but the label is there......monstrono or something - Tim, it may have come from you?  I can't see that cross pollination would have taken place, as I appear to be one of the few leek growers on site, and those that do have them aren't in flower.  Could save me some hard earned wedge!

I've used leek seeds that came from flowering leeks - in fact, I left the heads on the plants so long, the seeds sprouted in situ and so I actually had tiny leek pips to plant.
It's worth a try anyway - I think mine were Oarsman but not sure.

Good-oh Jenny.  That is what I like to hear! Mind you, they flowered so quickly that should put me off growing them again!  Of course, it might have been my poor handling at planting time that caused them to flower.

Well, some of mine (earlier) plantings did flower and I had them out, but the later ones. about June have been OK.
