Should know this - had it in my wedding bouquet :)  Will put thinking cap on, will get back to you when finished making plum chutney...
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;

Palustris

Nearly right though Emma, it used to be considered a member of the Narcissus family, but Botanists have since moved it sideways.
Gardening is the great leveller.

Hey Ho Eric, such is life.  Funnily enough, whilst sitting in the motor waiting for the kids to come out of school I was browsing my new Dobies catalogue, and what did I spot.....those very flowers!  Pricey...something like 4 quid for 3 bulbs!  Very very pretty though.
