I've just sliced up one of the cucumbers for tea, off same plant as all the others, and it was hollow! ??? Very white on the inside and tasted, well, not that nice really!! Any ideas? Thanks Lottie  :-\

::) ::) ::) Thank you for your words of wisdom,Tim,  I presume that's a technical term?!?! Now, put the drink down, and back away sslloooowwwwllly... ;) Lottie  ;D

Possibly allowed to grow a bit too long - was it a giant?

Yes, Rosa, it was a bit on the large side, is this the cause of hollowness? No good asking Tim, he's having a funny 5 minutes.... ::) ::) ::) Lottie  :)

I think it might be - I've seen it occur in carrots., where the really large ones get a hole in the middle. Admittedly, a carrot isn't a cucumber, but....  :)

But, think you got a good point!!! And thank you, this cucmber was also alot paler than the rest, have given it to my pets (wormery... :P) to munch on!!! Lottie  ;D

I'd agree with that having had a few holy cucumbers.  ALthough lack of water maybe a factor as well?
Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!

I can safely say, with complete certainty,  that they've had loads of water......... I think...probably....mmmmm..... :-\ Lottie
