I have lots of primula auriculas that are dying to be divided and i would love to pop them into little clay long toms (preferably old & rustic ones) and create an auricula theatre next spring.

Do any of you clever old sticks know where i could get hold of some? I've only managed to find brand new shiny bill & ben types or ridiculously pricey hand-made ones which are too big anyway. I'm looking for something between 3-6" ish.

Hope someone can help.....

I picked two up at a plant sale we were holding!  Someone bought us some plants to sell and they were in these lovely pots.  They look handmade to me.  i bought the plants just to get the pots  :)  I use em for herbs

I think it's a case of keeping your eye out for local plants fayres, car boots etc.

Don't reject the new ones though as they can easily be "aged"

not rejecting new ones, just haven't found any the right size or price :(

I have seen something recently where the Auricula pots were painted black and really showed off the plants, meanwhile here is a picture of the Auricula theatre at the Welsh botanic garden. As it was not the season for primulas they had used it for Pelagoniums.

that looks beautiful Montanum - obviously I'm aiming for something simpler, more like a green bookcase mounted on the wall next to my patio.

I've seen them in black pots too - at one of the RHS shows i think.
