Hi Waggi, its proper name is ACANTHUS mOLLIS if you google you will find some pictures i tried to copy and paste for you but it did not work, it is quite tall about 48 inches, very lovely foliage and lovely tall flowers, spitefull flower stems though
likes lots of room all in all a lovely plant.  Rosebud. PM me if you would like seed, sown after first frost.   Rosebud.

Mine got a lot bigger than 48 inches this year.  Its a 3 year old plant now and the flower spike must have been at least 7ft.  :o

Mine to Mimi but it took 2years to get that tall 6ft 3 and a bit ;D.
I think they are lovely given the space they need, which is a lot!!.
