Caterpillars

Apart from picking them off plants, does anyone have any good tips for getting rid of these blighter's which involves minimal chemical use?

Either BT, which can be obtained from bee supply houses if nowhere else, or rhubarb spray, which is still chemical, but at least it's natural.
