What needs cloching?

Reading lots of posts about cloches; what sort of veg needs the extra protection? I have a very new plot and have chucked in spuds, leeklings, a few celeriac plants, some rocket and cress, and am waiting for Dobies brassicas; later will put in onions and garlic. Also have some peas and spring onions to put out. Are they all going to turn up their toes and die if I don't protect them? ???
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

They'll be fine now. In fact when it's hot and sunny (?!) cloches would more likely kill something by getting far too hot. You won't need them until at least October/November when it starts being frosty again.
gone to pot :D

I only use cloches in winter for leafy things - lettuce is a prime example, the leaves get really tatty if they're not protected.

Things like parsley & chard, which appreciate a bit of cover, are too tall to cloche!!

I have visions of them wearing teeny hats and scarves. :D
