My Birthday, so excited !!

Lorna (jnr) came round this morning and said "I am taking you out on 10th Sept.We will be having a meal when we are out" She wouldn't tell me where.
Then this afternoon she came round again, handed me a large envelope and said that is the rest of your birthday present. I honestly thought perhaps she had a special photograph of Joshua (10) done for me. I said you shouldn't give it to me yet!!.. When I looked she has booked a 3night stay in a 4starhotel in Brussels via Eurostar (1st class) on 23rd Sept returning 26th Sept. She has arranged for my son to take us to Waterloo.She wanted door to door service for me. Just the two of us going. She has obviously put a lot of thought in to it, she chose the hotel because it is next to some Botanical gardens.. I have never been on Eurostar. What a lovely surprise. Lorna.

Svea didn't know about the free meal but have looked up on here all about Eurostar, another bonus :)
Yes we were blessed with 4 lovely kids amd since Lorna moved next door there is an extra closeness.Mind you I love them all to bits, not forgetting the 8 grandchildren. Only trouble is that Lorna and I chat so much we don't always get our "jobs" done. ;D.
Definately will take my camera and hope the botanical gardens will be worth a few snaps.

Marianne. Now that would be an excellent idea. Having said that I think the language "thing" will probably make Lorna(jnr) amd me giggle all the  more. We both have the same stupid sort of humour. She said to me  I hope you behave yourself, I have promised the rest of the family I will not lead her astray LOL. Lorna.

Lucky you Lorna  :)  I hope you both have a great time, get squiffy on too much Stella (they make it there you know) and stuffed with chips with mayo on  ;D  Oh I hope mussels are still in season while you're there as they sell them by the slurpily gorgeous bucketload.  I like the spit roasted chickens and waffles as well  ;D  Spare a thought for us while you're there  :)

Wardy.Thanks for bits info.(never been there) Mussels? Mouth  is watering so I hope they are in season.  If you know any more about the area I would be pleased to hear.(If you don't want to clog the board up perhaps you could PM me).I said to Lorna. doesn't matter about the weather we are going to use every minute. Have looked at some interesting places. Mustn't forget to take my inhaler so that I can do lots of walking!  :)
Have already put passport  with paperwork, dont want any last min panics.
Lorna is off with Joshua's father on Sunday for 4day break in Venice.

Marianne. Good about the mussels :) Our hotel is  on  Rue Royale 250 (Mecure Grand Hotel Royal Crown)  The pics we have looked at it appears to be quite nice. Do you know it? Do you know the gardens which are near to hotel? Would appreciate any info on places of interest.... we both like  architectural places to visit.. and of course gardens/parks. Cheers Lorna.
