I bought this plant from a flower show last weekend and was told it was a Sidalcea.  I have looked it up in my RHS Encyclopedia and the photo shows more buttercup like flower, whereas mine have more serrated type petals.   Can anyone confirm whether or not it is a Sidalcea :-\

It looks exactly like one of mine, but I`m afraid I`ve forgotten the name of the variety.

Thanks K :)  Maybe they did get it right after all :)

Thanks for that Roy :)  Doesn't look quite the same does it - the edges of the petals are smooth.  The overall appearance of the plant definitely is the same though so maybe there is another variety.  If you look closely you can see that the petals on my plant are definitely more jagged and serrated.

Doesn't matter at the end of the day does it - I am really pleased with it, it is such a delicate colour ;) :D

Can't take credit for the lawn Heldi - that's hub's 'baby' ;D  He takes such alot of trouble with it, I'm afraid I couldn't be bothered, although I must say it sets my flowers off a treat so I should be grateful :)

Problem solved :D  Whilst walking around my local garden centre this morning, what did I see but my plant.  They did get it right after all - the label said Sidalcea 'Elsie Heugh', so it seems there are two different types of flowers.  I was so pleased when I saw the name as my late Mum's name was Elsie :)
