this is a real beginner question, but was just racking my brain (i know, the cogs can run when they want) and thought i cant grow many earlies, because they dont store well. but is it possible to start off earlies late on in the year (not as in second cropping) but as in plating about a month ago to spuds in a few weeks time??

Or, is their a big main problem?

cheers,

I don't know if it will work or not, but about 2 weeks ago I took the last of my International Kidneys out, and there were some that had been exposed to the air and had started to sprout/chit, so I went to a spare strip of ground about 6' long and put 10 sprouting spudlets about 10" deep into it :-\.

No sign of any shoots yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.  I was kind of hoping for a few new potatoes around the middle-to-end of October (3 months?).
