Droopy spinach!

Eeek!  I had some lovely little spinach plants that I had grown in a pot in my garden.  Planted them out on my newly dug lottie on Saturday, watered them in well...went back this evening and they were totally wilted and droopy :(

We had lots of rain yesterday so I didn't think it would dry out so quickly.  The radishes I have in a pot at home are looking just the same :(

Also, SOMETHING has eaten the few pitiful swedes that I planted on the lottie too.  I'm not off to a very good start!

Did you transplant the whole potful intact?

Spinach has a very poor root system - I think! - & any disturbance would be a setback. Keep cool & wet!

No, I dug it out (carefully!) and planted it in neat little rows which now aren't looking quite as exciting!

I will go down every day and water it, not sure how to keep it cool though.  It's right in the middle of my plot with no shade! :(  Maybe I ought to put an umbrella over it or something :>

....or forget the spinach idea and grow chard instead....
I travelled to a mystical time zone
but I missed my bed
so I soon came home

I find that a lot of things go droopy when I first put them in, but they perk up after 3 or 4 days.

here here!!

I transplanted some of my chard.  It went all floppy and I thought I had killed it but after a couple of days new leaves came up and now it's thriving.  Wonderful stuff.  My favourite veg on the lottie.
