Can't find the thread so -

IF you're stuck with small green ones - PICKLE!

I will be quite pleased if I have enough green tomatoes  left to make chutney Tim.  I love green tomato chutney.  :) busy_lizzie

I adore Delia's green tomato chutney and recommend it to anyone.

I'm still assuming that mine will go red at some point.  Ever the optimist  :P

I've got green tomatoes everywhere: greenhouse (in halved growbags), garden (growbags & ground), and allotment... but not a single one, anywhere, has even the slightest red tinge!

All the plants have been 'stopped', the side-shoots nipped out, the growbags are getting 'fed' twice a week... is it simply likely that the cool & wet weather has put the dampers on the lot?

I've never tasted green tomato chutney. If a colour change doesn't happen soon, I'm going to be drowning in the stuff.

They will redden.
They do this through  warmth - so you could try taking a few off and putting them in a drawer.. But most of  those outside will ripen anyway.
It's only mid August.
Don't Panic!

I got my first ripe Gartenperle (pinkish red!) on Monday and there are distinct colour changes starting to happen all over my tomato patch. I'm growing one red, one gold and one cream, for sauces and eating, and it's my first year growing them on the lottie.

As you can appreciate, I am much relieved that they've started to go before blight hits as then there's a better chance of them ripening indoors!
