we've only had our plot for six weeks or so and therefore missed most of the growing season. however, mr fothergill's online is advertising potatos that go in in august! ;D
we know nothing about the different types of spuds!
should we go for waxy or floury? which ones roast well? which produce loads and are easy to grow?
they are offering the following types;
carlingford
charlotte
maris peer
nicola
what's your favourite?
Tara and Dave xx

Charlottes are delicious and produce a great yield. But they are waxy so I don't think they'd roast very well.

Also late croppers are very expensive and you have to protect them from frost.
gone to pot :D

We've found Carlingford very good.

And we've dug very happy tubers even when frozen solid!

Floury ones are best for roasting.
