Refers to all animal poo used to add soil fertility. Sensible gardeners only use poo which comes from animals that have vegetable diets, animals which have meat included in their diets can produce toxins which are harmful to human beings.
Any vegetarian animal manure can be used but it is still advisable to avoid using any fresh manure in direct contact with plants. Fresh manure should be 'left to stand' before being applied to soil or it can burn the plant.
