bad day
« on: December 04, 2007, 16:35:54 »
I have been using mechanical diggers for at least 25 years without an accident,
until today. I was backing out of a tight spot when the ground gave
way one side. Over  went the mini digger with me still attached, I swung
the bucket to stop it but was too late. It trapped me by the leg and after a bit of shouting
Tina the gardener came rushing over and tried to lift it. 2 ton of digger does not lift so she had to go
and get my truck jack and lift it enough for me to crawl out.

I have crushed my calf muscle badly, but no broken bones, OH is very annoyed that I nearly spoilt our
xmas holiday

As luck would have it she has just got the xmas decs out and there is a little bell amongst them, So I can
ring for room service. I bet she goes conveniently goes deaf.

will you stop ringing that bloody bell, we don't know if we're coming or going!!

Seriously, glad it wasn't worse and that someone was there to help you.  Fingers crossed it won't be too limiting by the time you go away  :)

Ace - thank heavens it wasn't worse. I'm not sure about the bell from the christmas decorations. Can't you find a ship's bell from somewhere - total rest  and to be waited on hand and foot is what is needed!! You must be fit for your Christmas holiday - snow and wheelchairs don't go!

Blimey that could have been a lot worse!! I thought the bell was so you could ring it shouting "unclean, unclean!"  ;D I don't know why I thought that as I'm sure a crushed muscle isn't contagious!!!  ::)

Anaesthetise yourself with alcohol Ace, it's the only way. ;D
Ring the bell when you need a 'tinkle'.
Smile, it confuses people.

You ain't kidding, I have just ben going over it again and it makes me shudder to think about it. Still, should be reasonably fit by the time we go to Prague in 16 days 11 hours and 35 minutes,(not that I'm counting). OH has decided that the ipod she got me for xmas needs testing so she has earphones on, She nicked my bell, but I had a spare.

Still, at least you'll have time to get to love that chandelier now. ;D

It's a good job we do not have a two fingered smiley :P
