I think I have messed up.

Some areas on my plots are really struggling, others in full flush. I thought it was the mixed up weather earlier and then the mini drought. Wrong!  I now think it was my manure. I put loads of the stuff on earlier this year, later than I should have done because it was too wet over the winter. They use wood chip for the stable floors and I must have used some  that was not fully broken down. The good stuff from the bottom of the heap has worked a treat, but the first stuff I loaded up with was from the top and I reckon that was the culprit.

I have read up on it on various  gardening sites, loads of conflicting reports, but you would think that  the real dung would have levelled out the nitrogen thieving shavings. It does have a positive though, no weeds. Next time I think I will go back to sheep dung, although the shavings should reverse this winter. Has anybody else had this problem.

I've even posted in the wrong place. The senior moments are coming more often.
