Moving Ads
« on: September 29, 2013, 12:30:29 »
I have managed to switch off most movement on Advertisements, I find it very distracting.  But some still move does anyone know how to get rid of it totally.

And the emoticons have stopped bouncing about   :icon_cheers:

I am also systematically opting out of any companies with ads which do not open in a separate window.

We have an add-on for Firefox called Adblock Plus. It stops all adverts.

With Internet Explorer you can do one of these two things ...for you the first would probably be the best I guess but both will stop the emoticons and all other movement not just the advertisements.

Method 1

1
Open Internet Options from either the Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Internet Options), or from Internet Explorer ( Tools -> Internet Options).

2
Click on the Advanced tab.

3
Scroll down to the Multimedia category.

4
Remove the check from the Play animations in webpages option.

5
Click the "OK" button.

Method 2

1
Let the webpage load.

2
Press 'Esc' on your keyboard. This will stop all the animated images in a page.
