Topic: Recommend 20ft longish greenhouse manufacturers

I'm going to splash out on a 20 x 8 ish aluminium greenhouse and I'm looking for names of manufacturers you good people can suggest. I know that this size might get me into the smallholder/commercial seller category - so if you know of any good brands then let me know.

Plus if you have any suggestions or experiences of larger greenhouses you want to share - the horror or the wonderful stories then please share!

Also thinking of adding a dwarf wall for extra height and added heat sink/source.

They're really resilient, we have children and adults with special needs on our plot, to say nothing of the grandies and general public. Ours is near the gate. If someone runs into it, the glass won't smash  :)
Also, they sometimes do deals, we got free staging with ours

I've got a 20 x10 secondhand Robinson, quite old but it wasn't hard to take down or put back up wihich is a sign of quality in my book

WoW not sure what i would do with that much space but why not 2, 10ft ones?? Then you have less space to heat in the winter? You can have them with doors both sides so you can walk from one to the other internally if needed?

Yeah... mine will be getting some subdividers before next winter.... heating that behemoth would be ruinous if I didn't have gas bottles I wanted to empty...

Yep personally i would get the two 10 ft ones and maybe between the 2 greenhouses and fix 2 water butts either side so the water can be drip fed into the greenhouses warmed and a false roof between them and make that a safe hardening off area for plants.

I had a 20'x10' greenhouse for years.  10' was divided off which worked well.   I grew wonderful cucumbers in the smaller part which need different conditions to most other plants.   You will soon fill it.   Good luck.

Squash, seeing your Rhino greenhouse inspired my OH and I to think about buying a better one.  The one we have has a lot of broken glass, is in a shady position under a tree and there is a problem with ivy getting between the glass and frame.  We thought we would buy a new one and put it in our paddock then at a later date take the old one apart completely and then re-assemble it by the new one. 

Tonight we have chosen the Rhino 8 x 16 but haven't put the order in yet.  There are a couple of questions I have about the one you recently installed and would be like your comments please. 

I have read somewhere that the assembly instructions are very difficult to follow and are ambiguous.  Did you have any problems when erecting yours? 

I also wondered how yours was fitted to that excellent paving base that you have there as I read on the Greenhouses Direct site that there are anchors that need to be concreted in.  We don't know whether we should build a base first or wait until we have installed the greenhouse. 

Any answers you can give regarding these questions will be much appreciated.

Hi Pauline, Lucky you having a new Rhino all to yourself!

Because ours was paid for by a lottery grant we included the installation fee and a professional came and erected it for us.  He started work at 8:00 and never sat down all day till he finished at 5 in the afternoon.  (he drank numerous cuppas while he was working)

He drilled through the slabs at various points on the base and attached the base with long metal 'things' - I wasn't watching at the time so can't say exactly what they are.  He didn't use any concrete.

It really was worth every penny having it put up by him.  I could pm you his details if you like, he is very helpful and I'm sure he would advise you.
