Had chicken in red wine - so in the sauce onions, garlic, and some diced carrots, plus some finely diced celeriac (use it instead of celery). Then did a root veg selection roasted with thyme (parsnip, carrot, potatoes, plus some potimarron squash). And for the greens some brussel sprouts just because they are lovely after all the frost. (Yummy)

Getting the parsnips and carrots out a bit tricky - luckily I am on sandy soil on this lottie so got them out whole. Was a bit icy though washing the residual soil off in the water butt.  :o

Also tried to relock the padlock on my shed which then completely seized up in the cold weather - dashed to B&Q got a new one to lock the shed and what do you know the original one worked okay after 15 minutes back in the warm of the kitchen. ::)

A lot of garlic and shallots in a sort of stir fry. Picked up the last two hanks of garlic from the shed yesterday, should be enough to see us through until the 'new' stuff currently frozen in the ground is ready..... ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Sprouts, potatoes, parsnips with dinner. Leeks & pumpkin and more potatoes in soup (and onions and garlic which went into a curry for later so not technically eaten yet!)  ;D

Last night curried parsnip soup, yum.  My leeks sauteed in butter, garlic (my own) and a little white wine, served with marinaded teryaki salmon.  Tomorrow, Bangers, mash (my potatoes) and brussels sprouts.
If you always do what you always did you'll always get what you always got!

Courgette and basil soup!! (it wasn't too bad having been frozen, but better freshly made.)
Smile, it confuses people.
