Kohl Rabi & HFW recipie

I'm growing this for the 1st time, and have no real idea what it tastes like. And I'd been wondering what to do with it. Anyway spotted this in Saturday's Guardian. Mine isn't ready yet but at least I'll have an idea now how to cook it :D
Whether or not I like it and will grow it again has yet to be confirmed :)

My fave veg, 1066, thinly sliced in a salad. Like a nuttier radish without the repeating!

thats good to hear, I had read it was a bit like turnip in terms of taste, which did put me off, but that was after I'd already sowed the seeds and they'd germinated!

I always do a few Kohl Robis and they are wonderfully versitile.
Shred in salads or add to coleslaw - slice em in a stir fry - or just plain boil them.
However so many on our site wonder what they are I am think of putting a sign up!

Great photo Saddad! And I see the purple podded peas made it to the table ;)
And Dorris Pinks - at this rate, with all these lovely recipies I'll be needing more plants to try them all out on!
Just have to hope it develops fully now ....
Thanks

I LOVE KR!
I grate it in with coleslaw, eat it raw, slice it and boil it until tender then fry it in a bit of oil or butter and garlic and my most recent trials were Potato and KR soup and also Courgette, Radish and KR pickle!
Delish!

Of course how I could I have forgotten coleslaw?! Sounds yum
Doris Pinks that sounds delicious. Anything involving cumin seeds gets my vote!
At this rate I won't have enough KR to try all these great recipe out! Memo to self, sow more seed next year so I can try all these recipes :)
Also seen some nice sounding recipes, Ken Hom / Oriental style ones stir fried with Soy Sauce and Seseame seeds etc
Trouble is I only have 6 KR in the ground.....

just checked my packet of seeds and I can (and will) sow some more in the next couple of days, for some reason I thought the sowing season was over. Doh!
