The weather is awful here.    Tipping down.   No chance of a dig up.

No Tim we only put a few seed potatoes in on valentines day just to see what the harvest would be like. Mine were eaten a few weeks ago.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Plan to empty a pot out tonight. Just had two 10" pots with one seed potato in each (not allowed to count last October's planters with Anya and Vivaldi in them).

Taken in late April

I only lift earlies as needed.

My yields so far, based on a single plant of each from the end of the row:

Riviera: 2lb 6oz/plant
Mimi: 2lb 2oz/plant
Dunbar Rover: 2lb 8oz/plant

No idea if that's good or bad. All my potato plants are huge, a good 3' tall, and the foliage reaching right over to the next row, many of my neighbours plants are under a foot. Not sure why.

I am going to stop reading the potato posts cos the green eyed monster is coming out of me.   I am a couple of weeks behind growers south of me, still the bright side is i will be digging up my earlies when you have moved onto the seconed earlies.

Dunbar Rover is a second early, couldn't resist lifting one, but I'll be leaving the rest for a while.

Nor here Tim ! I've been digging up  Swift earlies as I need them for the past few weeks, with enough still in the ground to see me though to the end of the month I reckon.

Well here they are: one rather neglected seed potato in a 10" (about 11 litre) pot produced this.

Not sure if that's a good result or bad...suspect it's a "could try harder"  :)
