Topic: Seaforth, Liverpool - Allotment / Share

Hiya,

I'm a newbie on this forum - thought it looked really interesting, though!
I've already picked up a few tips for what's growing in the yard out back.

The slight snag is that my partner and I lack the allotment so integral to the gardening process...   :'(

Not sure if I've posted this on the right board (or even if there is one), but - does anyone know of any available allotment in or near to Seaforth, Liverpool?

We visited the two nearest us today (Beach Lane and Kingsway), but each has a gargantuan waiting list of 40 or more (there are only 50-odd plots) and we have no reliable transport...  I may have to write to the council at this rate!

I contacted a local councillor about this issue yesterday.  She replied to my message very quickly indeed (I'm genuinely impressed), and said that she'd try to make more land available for allotments.  :)

In the meantime, she suggested halving a plot with someone, so I'll head up the road on the weekend and enquire again.  I'm determined to find somewhere to garden before the spring!

Has anyone else been through this process?

wow that is impressive indeed! good luck with finding your plot,and keep posting,im very interested to find out what she is going to do for you regarding land.have you put yourself on the waiting list anyway? we have our plot in south liverpool (wave!) and waited about 14 months for our plot.
