Banners and mashed pots, onions and mushrooms.  I just love minty lamb chops, usually buy them from Morrisons but they haven't had many there lately.  Eggs and chips and baked beans (from a tin) last night and that made a nice change.  Spag. blog. tomorrow from the freezer, if I remember to get it out and don't mix it up with the other stuff in there.  Must remember to label!!!!!  May well be blackberries or chicken soup.  Last time I offered grandchildren ice cream it was spagetti bolognese, well I am mean and use up the old ice cream cartoons.

We usually have our own tomatoes instead of beans but they all got it by the blight this year. Just going to make an apple pie. Had plenty of them this year so got them in the freezer instead of the toms.

If I had answered after Eristic, I could have, perhaps, impressed someone - but not now!

I had Sweetcorn Pie ... my own veg, just had to buy cheese.
make up some mashed potato, add finely chopped onion and grated cheese. Spread half in a baking dish, add a middle layer of sweetcorn, top with remaining mash. Sprinkle cheese, pepper and paprika on top and bake for about 20 mins until bubbly.

Made up my own 'Fennel & Smoked Salmon' soup.

Had lots of Fennel sat in the garden (looking a bit sorry for itself) and Waitrose (my nearest supermarket) had lightly smoked salmon reduced as about to go past its sell by date.

Chopped up the fennel and some celery - steamed for 15 minutes to soften.
Dissolved a veg stock cube in the steamer water and put that with an equal amount of milk in a pan. Added half the steamed veg and blended until smooth.

Add the rest of the veg (I like my soups to be both smooth but with real chunks of veg too) and then the salmon cut into large pieces. Simmer for 15 minutes and its done.

Great with some home made bread.
