It happend to mine last year and the cover was found in a neighbours garden. I dont think they are very good, other than staging for greenhouses ;)

I confess that I only use them inside my ordinary unheated greenhouse to give a bit more protection for non hardy plants, then take the covers off as the weather warms up and move them outside as extra shelving for a 'hardening off' area...

Yes know the feeling, just replaced the roof on my shed that someones children has peeled off, d**n annoying when you pay over £300 for something.

I had a plastic greenhouse last year and ended up losing the lot after the wind got it.

I lost mine to the heavy rain last year, had managed to win against the wind earlier in the year by using bricks and rope to tie it down. I constructed a fruit cage with the remaining poles but have now lost that to the wind. I didn't think having it covered with netting would catch the wind but it seems it can get hold of anything. Not sure if I'll be able to think of another use for the poles now that the plastic connectors have all smashed!

I did get mine off freecycle though (in fact it was 2 that I'd cobbled together) so haven't lost out in monetary terms, still annoying though.

My 12' lottie greenhouse was roofed with polytunnel plastic, which was already showing some signs of wear/splitting just before the winter. I'm actually putting off going round there because I know it's going to be in shreds now. :'(

As for our 4 x 6 aluminium garden greenhouse - is it possible to make a mosaic out of broken glass? ::)

AND some of the wire shelves wired together to form triangles or squares to support tall plants in the garden, They're green and blend right in. Too cold to go out and take a pix today.

Springbokgirlie - a fruitcage is a mesh-covered 'pen' for your soft fruit plants and shrubs. Stops them escaping. ;)

Or stops the birds getting at them, whichever is the most likely. ;D

Looking around our garden we have a lot of those green pipes and connectors, left over from previous years 3 and 4 tier greenhouses. Most have become staging in the main glass house, and polycarbonate greenhouses.

But I bet I could cobble something together.

And the fruit cage will be massive, based upon a 3M gazebo :-) I'll post a picture when its done.

Now that's given me an idea. I wonder if BW would notice if I took gazebo bits to make a fruit cage ;D We certainly didn't use it last year...maybe he'll forget we ever had one ::)

I bought one yesterday and intend putting it up in the unheated greenhouse to give extra protection against frosts and give me additional shelving. It wouldn't last 5 minutes outside as I live in a very windy spot.

mine last year was wrecked by the wind,the plastic was ripped all over .so we took the frame and put it in the lobby ,it makes brilliant racking for potato chitting ,i also have some chillie on there growing .best thing is when the weather is a little better and the chillies are in the green house and the spuds are in the ground i can take the racking down.
i brought a bigger one this year focus had the large ones on offer they are normally 27.99 they were selling them for 13.00
