I have a few Helleborus nigris seeds that I can spare. I think this is the most common of the Helleborus. It has white, quite large flowers on a sturdy stem.

What do you mean by fancy Hellebores? I've got loads of hybrids of various shades, but they're all the basic single ones, and I won't have seed for months as they're only starting to flower. If it's the modern fancy hybrids you want, you need to say so otherwise you may get sent 'plain' ones. Plants of Distinction have seed of the fancy ones, and Chiltern Seeds have all sorts, but they're not my thing.

I would be interested in some 'plain' Helleborus seed if there is anyone with spare.  I have things to swap but don't have my list with me so tell me what you're after and I'll see what I have.

I'm designing a garden for a friend and as they have a tight budget I'm trying to get hold of as many seeds as possible to grow from scratch rather than buying the plants.  Helleboures are one of the ones on my list for the woodland garden.

Many thanks

I should have some later, but they need to be planted very fresh, and I wouldn't be very sure of them now, unless you buy them from a specialist with decent storage facilities. Don't waste money on Hellebores from the big seed merchants. They need to be planted at once, then left out over the winter to get a good chill.

Hi Sawfish, Did you ever get fixed up with some "fancy Hellebore" seed? I should have some Hybrid seed in the next few weeks, and you are most welcome to some. The Yellow Corgette seeds you let me have are now 3" high and looking well.
