No Modify Button anymore?

Is it just my imagination or can we no longer modify our posts or update them?

'Modify' only works here for a short time after posting - you can't go back and correct spelling any more :'(

I find that the 'modify' and 'delete' buttons come and go at the moment. Could be a result of heavy usage of the site?

Dan has modified the system, in order to ensure thread continuity, since some people apparently editted or deleted their posts which destroyed the sense in some threads.
