;D What's been your all time favourite Christmas Present?

.... and to make it a little harder, any second, third or "almost as good as" choices are not allowed!  ;D

(hopes that we can at least try to stay on topic......  :-\  )

I had a beautiful dolls house when I was about eight  :)  It had working lights in it and it was gorgeous.  I used to wallpaper it regularly and fit new carpets  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

I really thought about this and it's difficult mainly because I can't remember what I got last year etc.  Then the light dawned and it is quite easy for me, (a bit soppy perhaps) my wife being there beside me.

Nope, have thought and thought all morning, and cannot pinpoint one perfect pressie, so would have to say, waking up next to my darling, with the kids sitting on the end of the bed on Christmas morning!  ;D

A bank book with £200 in it ....all mine! This was a gift from the Governor...

I had better explain...
My Governor has always looked after all our cash plus that of the business we have...in a nut shell she isn't bad off...  I am broke!
I commented one time that I didn't have any money of my own...hence the bank account

A few months later I had amassed a reasonable sum in this account of mine when one day the Governor asked if she could use some of my cash as it was more convenient to do so. I agreed...being the kind hearted soul (fool) that I am
The problem arose when I didn't have time to make the withdrawal...so...we made the account a joint account so that she could have access.
I haven't seen the bank book for years now...I presume its still there somewhere.

SIGH......It was nice while it lasted.

I'll be saying the same in less than an hour - it's Lucy's* Christmas bathtime. It's like wrestling a greasy ten ton cow...

*EDIT: For those not bothering to read the rest of this thread we're talking about dogs here, not human family members...

MY  favourite present is three consecutive mounted pictures of my youngest and I acting the fool and roaring with laughter in a restaurant when she was 3.  still makes me laugh every time I look at it.

When I was about 10-11 my dad had a work colleague who made a tape of Abba's Greatest Hits for him to give to me for Christmas.  It had some spare tape on the end so my dad put Mull of Kintyre and Fleetwood Mac's Albatross on there too.  Bestest present I've ever had.  Don't remember how long it lasted but it was a long time and eventually had to let it go as it was worn out.  Bright orange agfa tape!

my best present must be a large teddy-like dog i got given when i was eight. he was about 1m tall with humanoid features except he had a dog face and big floppy ears. his name is dixie, he slept in my bed for years and years, knew all my secrets and triumphs and losses. still lives here but no longer in bed.

reading through this thread it's interesting that most 'bestest' presents were fairly immateriel (i.e. didnt cost much). that's a nice thing :)
