I am still in the process of converting my old pond into  what I hope will be a colourful bog garden. It is taking rather longer than I planned owing to injuring my left arm a couple of weeks ago. The plants below have self-seeded in several places after spreading home made compost. Although I try not to put any tomato or pepper seeds into my compost bins I've also been removing self-seeded plants of these too  :BangHead:. Can someone please tell me what they are. They seem different - one has more serrated leaf edges than the other one.

Thanks

Maybe verbascum phoenicum - shorter than the big yellow mulleins and leaves not hairy.  The ones that will have pink or purple flowers have purply ribs in the leaves but some have white flowers and no coloured rib.  Self seeds liberally in my garden and compost heap.

It looks a bit like my self-seeded borage ... but it could be a number of things.

Thanks for the input folks - I think squeezyjohn is right. I had one borage plant last year, so I probably chucked it into the compost without thinking last Autumn  :tongue3:. I've removed several smaller plants already but since flowers seem to be forming on the two I photographed, I'm going to let them develop. I'll make sure I don't let them go to seed though. :toothy10:

First one looks Iike Borage, second one could be a foxglove?
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
