Well done Mike

Your picture certainly has that autumnal look about it.

I was quite surprised to see the number of votes I got so thanks to all who voted for my photo.

I did not notice that the competition was themed this time till after I had sent in my entry.

A white Rose is certainly not an autumnal colour. If it had not been for that bit of Photinia behind it , it would have been devoid of colour.

It wasn't that I didn't have any autumnal colours to choose from as there is plenty to photograph in my neck of the woods at this time of the year.

Here are some I took last year;

Lovely picture Mike - I really wanted to be there and swish my feet through the leaves and smell that wonderful autumnal smell.  And several other pictures were superb too, it was so difficult to decide.  I think picture 9 would be a lovely subject to paint.

TeeGee, it is exactly the contrast between the red leaves and the (last?) white rose of summer that makes it such a strong autumn picture for me.   :wave:

Borlotti

Picture 9 made me want to put my walking boots on, but had to vote for the colour of the leaves.  I will try to take a decent photo for the next competition when we know what the subject is.  My pictures are usually rubbish, but must try harder.  :toothy10: :toothy10:

Well done Mike, beautiful colours.  I also failed to notice the theme, just thought it was autumn!  Mind you, the bringing down of the sheep and cows from the mountains always brings colour to our autumn.

Paulines7

A lovely picture Mike.  I found it a difficult choice but was bowled over by TeeGees white rose with the magnificent yellow centre.

Thank you for those people who voted for my entry at number 7.  It is a picture of one of the beaches at Hartland Quay in Devon, which we visited in September.  The rock formations there are magnificent.  The beach was very interesting, but the cliffs were amazing as the rocks were buckled and tipped vertically when the two super continents of Laurasia and Pangaea collided millions of years ago.  This occurrence left spectacular chevron shaped folds exposed in the cliffs.  Well worth a visit.

Morning folks, many thanks to everyone who voted for my image, I'm really pleased to be the winner.  :happy7: Well done to everyone  else who entered such lovely photos, and congrats to TeeGee for taking second place. I will endeavour to choose a nice theme for the next competition.

Kind regards

Mike.
