I went up to my allotment on New Years eve to check what's going on up there. It was nice to see all the tracks in the snow of the wildlife that has been visiting it in my absence. Looks like a heron or other large bird has been nosing around and a hare left its trail right down the middle of the plot.

Once followed the tracks of a fox in the snow all the way round Delamere forest in Cheshire. Caught up with the collie as they were cleaning off the snow to put it in the car.

I did something similar once - followed the trail of an 'injured fox'  for about 500 yards through snow-covered woodland(blood in paw print) only to find it led  to a where a woman was trying to get the bleeding to stop in her colliex's paw. Embarrassed Helped her out (being an x vet nurse) and had a laugh about it.  Found some roe deer tracks that day and plenty of rabbits and squirrels - I love fresh snow in the countryside!  Grin Eileen.
