I hope this is allowed.  I grow over 20 types of herbs but I rarely photograph them.  Here's a small selection.

Great photos - but does no one cut back their chives for continuity?

I trim mine back a little after flowering to get a second crop, Tim.   

Lovely seeds, Gadfium.  I paid a small fortune for a little pot recently.

Got another clump I cut back regularly, for cooking, but those in my picture are by the gate and look so cheerful - I only cut them back when they look tatty

SS Are there benefits to be gained from growing herbs amongst the beans please?

Hi Lorna.  I'll let SS answer for herself but I find it's worth growing flowers, particularly herbs, near runner beans because they attract pollinating insects. French beans on the otherhand don't need to be pollinated by insects.

Hi lorna, summer savory is reputed to deter bean weevil, and coincidence or not none of the lil nibblers struck among my bush beans this year. It's good for plot and pot - when added to dried beans it's supposed to deter flatulence THE herb of choice for sausage makers. Hard to describe the flavour, but it's very aromatic, like thyme, sage etc.

I took cleo's recommendation and grew it for the first time this year among my bush beans. Big surprise - although an annual herb, it's a sturdy little bush, and no bother to grow. Lovely to squeeze between your fingers as you potter about. Nice wee purple flowers for bees too.

I'll grow borage round my pole beans next year too for bees
