I've got hold of some ragged robin and flag iris seeds for my pond, but they have no sowing instructions.

Should I sow them in situ or will they be ok if I sow them in pots and transplant them later?

Would spring be the best time to start them?

How deep should I plant the irises under water? (assuming they germinate!)

Since both of these plants will transplant quite readily, I would sow them in pots outside now and grow them on before planting.
Irises should be planted with the crown just belwo water level

You'll be ok in a couple of months Robin - spending the rest of your life by my beautiful (I hope) pond!

Maybe not buns. I do make mean cookies, though that's the extent of my baking. But I'm afraid mine is an alcohol-free home! Does that mean you won't germinate and flourish there?
