Tomatillo, how & when?

My tomatillo plants are 5" high, can I plant them out now? How much space do they need? It's the first time I'm growing these and I'm trying to decide where abouts on the lottie to put them.

Lots!!-never tried them outdoors but that is no reason not to. They are quite vigorous in their habit-well Triffids to be honest-to me they taste weird on their own but in a salsa-that is something different.
