I'm getting very excited about all my new plants. Never had this one before but I will be getting more for next year.

Hi Jane,

Your first of anything is always special...  Well done!

Looks like it's in a pot - have never tried it since I'm rubbish at things in containers.  Mine are in a cramped corner in the front garden and the snails and ivy got to them before I did this year.  They might survive if I'm lucky.

I've been growing agapanthus in blue pots for 5 years (have never moved them, fed them, re-potted them or anything) and they flower like loyal troopers every year.  If you like Alliums I'm sure you'll enjoy agapanthus.

Best of gardening luck

Thanks for that Trillium. Until this year I have grown everything in pots due to large amounts of paved areas and hardstanding in the garden. However I am on leave from work at the moment and managed to raise 15 slabs and dig out about 2 yards of thick heavy clay from under them. I now have a flower bed to use. I have also got some Agapanthus in a pot. Not sure if they will flower this year as they are very small.
