Hi can anyone give me any information about trying to grow an apple tree in my allotment. My wife says she would like to buy the variety 'beauty of bath'. It says on the nursery websites they would need 2 other variety's of apple to pollenate. Would this need to be in the immediate vicinity or could my neighbours allotment( about 50ft away) with apple trees including some of the variety's mentioned be near enough. I would try and get some info from my neighbour but he's gone on holiday for a couple of weeks.
Many thanks.

You should be OK -assuming the other varieties are compatable. I'm sure I've seen a figure of 50 yards mentioned elsewhere. Also any nearby crab apples should help.

BTW -I don't think Beauty of Bath is a triploid, so you should only need on, suitable, pollinator -although the more the merrier.
