Argh!

The fleece has blown off the cabbages, even as I went up to change the way it was nailed down to the one I wrote about on A4A last week.

Alas, too late! I have three intact cabbages (where the fleece dropped) and the rest are skeletons.  I have watered them copiously and rejigged the fleece but I suspect they'll be a bit delayed in their growth.  Least the three will be ahead of the others so can eat them first.

Hard work at lottie though - 31C and really enervating. Still feel wobbly. Don't like extreme heat!

hopefully some are still recoverable. Have watered well.
It'll need X-pigeons to get through now... have put netting UNDER the fleece, which means if it escapes again they still can't get in (though then the flea beetles can... but right now flea beetles are the least of the problems!)

Hi Moonbells

I've had exactly the same problem >:( >:(

I went up last night to check the lottie, and found that the wind had dislodged the netting from my sprouts and cabbages. >:( >:(  The pigeons had stripped the leaves from 15 sprouts and 6 cabbages. :'( :'( :'(

I'm not sure if they will regrow any more leaves, but I wish I could catch the pigeons responsible

EX-TER-MIN-ATE!!! I know how you feel; they leave me alone (almost) in the summer, but as soon as it gets cold they're down on any brassica they can get to.
