Brambles – a muntjac deterrent or just a tasty snack?

Last year life had the cheek to interfere with my time in the allotment which meant I had to ignore many sections; the main victim was the raspberries and the bed has become completely overgrown with vicious brambles.   Every cloud...   we have muntjac problems on the allotment and the sweetcorn is always a target.  Would the brambles provide sufficient deterrent if used as a wrap around of the typically ineffective chicken-wire. ..or do muntjac consider brambles simply hors d'oeuvre.
